\nI remember vividly one of my first trips to explore potential biotopes<\/strong> for wildlife sound
\nrecording back in the early 2000s somewhere around Leipzig.
\nDriven by the idea we could spot a displaying Eurasian Woodcock Scolopax rusticola<\/em>
\nmy friend Daniel and I went off to a well known forest which should inhabit lots of them.<\/p>\n

Since our trips weren\u2019t usually characterised by cleverly worked out preperations<\/strong>
\nwe ended up in a different forest just in time for the dawn chorus. That must have been

During the following weeks<\/strong> I visited the area a few times, spent many hours there observing
\nwoodpeckers of all kinds, breeding Northern Ravens Corvus corax<\/em>, Northern Goshawks
\nAccipiter gentilis<\/em> and my first Agile frogs Rana dalmatina<\/em>.<\/p>\n
