Thomas K."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>June 2014<\/strong><br \/>\nIn <strong>contrast to visual identification<\/strong> of Barred Warblers <em>Sylvia nisoria<\/em>,<br \/>\nwhich is without doubt straightforeward &#8211; not to say this species is<br \/>\n<strong>unmistakeable<\/strong> &#8211; it\u2019s acoustic ID seems to be much more complicated,<br \/>\neven for more experienced birders.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.singwarte.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/14_blog_tkoester.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-552\" src=\"http:\/\/www.singwarte.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/14_blog_tkoester.jpg\" alt=\"14_blog_tkoester\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1355\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.singwarte.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/14_blog_tkoester.jpg 738w, https:\/\/www.singwarte.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/14_blog_tkoester-221x300.jpg 221w, https:\/\/www.singwarte.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/14_blog_tkoester-550x745.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.singwarte.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/14_blog_tkoester-230x312.jpg 230w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nthe mighty Thomas K.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>new approach<\/strong> has taught us to rely on facts not on subjective<br \/>\nimpressions and description which seldom works for a another person.<\/p>\n<p>Even usefull field guides (for visual ID) <strong>remain in oldschool like<br \/>\ndescriptions<\/strong> of timbre, speed and lyrical comparisons with similar<br \/>\nspecies: \u201cSong like Garden Warbler, but almost always audibly harder<br \/>\nand more rasping and with slightly higher pitch\u201d (SVENSSON et al. 2006)<\/p>\n<p>There is no need for that when there are <strong>hard facts<\/strong> and a view into<br \/>\nsonagrams reveals quickly what makes a Barred Warbler song &#8211;
