This time though without the <strong>silly, eurocentric<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>image<\/strong> and <strong>personal projections<\/strong> of the &#8216;untouched paradise&#8217; that so many bring along<br \/>\n&#8211; like me, back in 2015. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.singwarte.info\/?p=1228\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">-&gt;<\/a><br \/>\nSo this time I could very well accept mass tourism, large-scale construction projects<br \/>\n(especially roads) and the seemingly <strong>unpretentious approach<\/strong> of many Icelanders to<br \/>\nthe landscape they live in. Except from one thing: <strong>photo-drones<\/strong>. But there<br \/>\nwas a surprisingly close, long lasting encounter with a hunting Humpback Whale<br \/>\nin a fjord &#8211; leaving us speechless.<\/p>\n<p><a <em>Alca torda islandica<\/em>, calls at nest<\/p>\n<p>I really enjoyed the time in the mostly <strong>barren landscape<\/strong>, as someone who grew up in<br \/>\na heath-dominated landscape, those landscapes immediately make me feel being at<br \/>\nhome.<br \/>\nFor the very first time I saw Iceland&#8217;s <strong>forests<\/strong>, which was quite strange after spending<br \/>\ntwo weeks in the <strong>tundra, stone desert<\/strong> and along <strong>coasts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Many thanks to the always great and helpful <strong>Marianne Rasmussen<\/strong> for the opportunity<br \/>\nto participate in their course and the great exchange as well as <strong>Yann Kolbeinsson<\/strong> for<br \/>\nthe nice conversation, his support and hints on enormously beautiful spots!!<\/p>\n<p><a
