February 2013<\/strong>
\nDuring the first days of February I went to the peninsula Dar\u00df-Fischland-Zingst<\/strong>
\nfor the second time. I chose the February in hope to that both Owls and
\nWoodpeckers<\/strong> are already in their courtship display<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

But it was still too cold and it rained\/snowed nearly all the time<\/strong>. So I decided
\nto devote my time to the small passerines<\/strong> of the forests espacially the family
\nof the Tits (Paridae).
\nIt’s no secret the vocalisations of this family are enormous and very complex<\/strong>.
\nMagnus Robb<\/a> recommended Rosemary Jellis “Bird Sounds and Their Meaning”<\/strong>
\nto me to getting more familiar with it.<\/p>\n

The same as the Paridae are the two european Treecreeper species to me.
\nHave had only less occasions to watch and listen to Certhia familiaris<\/em> I wasn`t
\naware how the differences in comparison to C brachydactyla<\/em> appears in the
\nfield at the end.
\nThe Neudarss forest provide aplenty of this species so I could hear it’s calls
\nevery day to getting familiar with it.<\/p>\n
