December 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

I prefer to spend the winter time<\/strong> somewhere at the coast, where bird species accumulate
\nmuch more than they do in the mainland<\/strong>. Since I live in the mainland, it amounts to short
\ntrips up north, favourably to the Dar\u00df peninsula<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It was a bit of a bad timing this year, and way too much tourists spend the christmas<\/strong>
\ntime<\/strong> there too. Not the best conditions for sound recording<\/strong> then.<\/p>\n

But knowing some less frequented places there, I was able to escape the noisy masses
\nat least during the early hours<\/strong> of the morning.<\/p>\n\n

This year huge flocks of Common Redpoll Acanthis flammea<\/em> taxa where present
\neverywhere, but I couldn\u2019t find any of the desired Parrot Crossbills Loxia pytyopsittacus<\/em>,
\nwhich have been reported a few days before my arrival.<\/p>\n

Eurasian Siskin Spinus spinus<\/em>, Common Redpoll Acanthis flammea ssp<\/em>, Northern Raven Corvus c. corax<\/em><\/p>\n

But just hiking and listening<\/strong> to the general soundscape was worth the trip, and as
\na bonus I could show my partner her first<\/strong> Bohemian Waxwings Bombycilla garrullus<\/em>,
\na species which is always pleasure to look at.<\/p>\n

My main goal recording-wise was to collect sounds for an upcoming album<\/strong> and, of course,
