It was one of the places, we regularly visited<br \/>\ntogether.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly the <strong>axcavation<\/strong> in the quarry has been boost anew. For that reason<br \/>\na lot of microhabitats were <strong>destroyed recently<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>There was nothing left to me but to concentrate to the forest nearby and<br \/>\nI found a lot of interesting birds.<\/p>\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-168-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.singwarte.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/PFR03875_1-10_100509_BIO_etdove-turtur-S_d_sn_grossst_REF-S_C.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.singwarte.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/PFR03875_1-10_100509_BIO_etdove-turtur-S_d_sn_grossst_REF-S_C.mp3\">http:\/\/www.singwarte.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/PFR03875_1-10_100509_BIO_etdove-turtur-S_d_sn_grossst_REF-S_C.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>PFR03875, 100509, European Turtle Dove <em>Streptopelia turtur<\/em>, song, Grosssteinberg, Germany<\/p>\n<p>I found four singing European Turtle Doves <em>Streptopelia turtur<\/em> but once<br \/>\nagain the conditions for sound recordings were not the best. But I enjoyed<br \/>\n<strong>listening <\/strong>to these rare birds very much.<br \/>\nThe doves were astonishingly shy, so I couldn`t approach them closer then<br \/>\n150 meters \u2013 maybe an implication caused by<strong> permanent persecution by<br \/>\nmen<\/strong> since decades.<\/p>\n<p>The simple song of the Common Cuckoo <em>Cuculus canorus<\/em> is well known<br \/>\nin general. The<br \/>\npopulation of this fine singer is about to <strong>decrease in a dramatic way<\/strong> since<br \/>\nseveral years.
