February 2009<\/strong>
\nIt\u00b4s February, the first songbirds are singing in the first warm shafts of sunlight.
\nAfter a few of month recording with hard conditions a friendlier time is about to
\nbegin.
\nTo my surprise yesterday a flock of Common Starlings Sturnus vulgaris<\/em> was sitting
\nin a apple tree and chatting. One of them gave a short lesson in what a Starling
\ncan achieve.<\/p>\n

Since one week a flock of 25 Hawfinches C. coccothraustes<\/em> was straying around.
\nWith a \u201ccontact call\u201d the flock seemed to sync their activities. One by one was
\ncalling till all individuals were together.<\/p>\n

Last year I tryed to record their curious whispering song. Now with my new Telinga<\/a>
\nparabolic reflector I have better prospects. Here my first attempt.<\/p>\n

During this winter were a lot of Long Tailed Tits Aegithalos caudatus<\/em> flocks in
\nLeipzig. What i like about this recording is the contrast of the urban surrounding<\/strong>
\nand the bird\u00b4s delicate voices<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
