It is situated in the Baltic Sea in Northeastern Germany.<\/p>\n<p>For me, this trip offered a complete new view on <strong>bird migration<\/strong>. In the area<br \/>\naround my hometown Leipzig, bird migration was for me, until now, only visible<br \/>\nin the form of <strong>large flocks of Cranes and Geese<\/strong>.<br \/>\nOn the contrary at this isle I observed mainly <strong>songbirds<\/strong> like thrushes, Larks<br \/>\nor Finches. One of the most frequent appearing birds on the island were the<br \/>\ntiny Goldcrests <em>Regulus regulus <\/em>\u2013 their high pitched calls were omnipresent.<\/p>\n<p>081012, Goldcrests <em>Regulus regulus<\/em><br \/>\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-136-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.singwarte.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/082210_goldcrest_d_mv_gr-oie_REF-S.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.singwarte.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/082210_goldcrest_d_mv_gr-oie_REF-S.mp3\">http:\/\/www.singwarte.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/082210_goldcrest_d_mv_gr-oie_REF-S.mp3<\/a><\/audio><\/p>\n<p>During the hourly \u201ccontrol-walks\u201d along the mist nets, I noticed a sound,<br \/>\nseemingly of geese, always from the same direction. Once a day, my<br \/>\ncompanion <a href=\"http:\/\/afternature.net\" target=\"_blank\">Marcus<\/a> mentioned a tree nearby the nets that sounded like<br \/>\nWhite-Fronted-Geese <em>Anser albifrons<\/em>.
