\nMidyear is usually the time for a short UK trip. The Wildlife Sound Recording<\/a>
\nSociety<\/a> holds it\u2019s annual meeting and this is the best opportunity to meet some<\/strong>
\nsound recordists<\/strong>, having chats about recent trips, new equipment or this year,
\nthe so called brexit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"coast\"<\/a><\/p>\n

On my way to the Rutland Water Reserve<\/a> I visited some friends in the Netherlands
\nand Kent, spent a few days in Norfolk<\/a> birding, reading and listening<\/strong> to some Northern
\nWrens Troglodytes troglodytes<\/em>, Dunnocks Prunella modularis<\/em> and Common Wood
\nPigeons Columba palumbus<\/em> songs.
\nThe latter species inhabited the camping site in bigger numbers and I really enjoyed
\ntheir matutinal song competitions<\/strong> and again was quite surprised by the song variability.<\/p>\n

This is a recording I made early in the morning before I took the ferry back to the continent.
