Waiting for Eurasian Bitterns

Posted on Posted in field note

June 2008
Yesterday I went out to make sound recordings of Great Bitterns Botaurus stellaris.
While I was waiting in the dark a European Roe Deer Capreolus capreolus came
closer unnoticed and barked as it was frightened by my presence.
Nearby a Common Nightingale Luscinia megarhynchos was singing in the dark too.
